Level 3 Learning Outcomes – Professional Practice

Outcome 3.PPr.1: Being respectful and courteous to patients and their families, to administrative, nursing, allied health, medical staff, to other students, to academic staff and to members of the public.

Outcome 3.PPr.2: Observing patient confidentiality and privacy in clinical and non-clinical settings and on social media networks (including closed groups).

Outcome 3.PPr.3: Obtaining informed consent from patients, including consent to participate in procedures and examination of sedated or anaesthetised patients.

Outcome 3.PPr.4: Participating in and/or facilitating learning in a respectful and constructive manner, in clinical and non-clinical settings, with peers, clinical supervisors and academic staff

Outcome 3.PPr.5: Listening and contributing in a positive and supportive manner and handles differences of opinion with respect and consideration.

Outcome 3.PPr.6: Arriving on time or alerting of lateness.

Outcome 3.PPr.7: Demonstrating reflective practice including self-appraisal and appropriately seeks feedback from patients, peers, clinical supervisors and other clinical team members.

Outcome 3.PPr.8: Acting within clinical competence, seeking supervision for procedures including venepuncture and cannulation until able to perform them in a way which is safe and in accordance with institutional policies.

Outcome 3.PPr.9: Demonstrating sensitivity to cultural diversity, gender, disability and illness, religious, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or racial differences.
